Alex Christensen & The Berlin Orchestra feat. SEVEN - Nothing Compares 2 U

This is the first English release by jan SEVEN dettwyler since 2018 and it took a lot of effort.

Nothing Compares 2 U by Prince, who also wrote the song, was released in 1984. It wasn't until 1990 in the version by Sinéad O'Connor that the song became a global hit. Now there is a wonderful orchestral version by Jan SEVEN Dettwyler.

When Alex Christensen and his The Berlin Orchestra played this song with Jan in Berlin in the sold-out Tempodrom, Alex immediately realised that this title had to be recorded. Jan hesitated for a long time and had to come to terms with the subject matter and the fact that he was covering Prince. He overcame this and put his heart on the table.

Anyone who knows anything about Prince knows how impossible it is to get any song rights and how virtually nobody is allowed to cover and release his songs. Thanks to his good connections, Jan personally presented the song to Prince's relatives in Minneapolis and actually got worldwide clearance for this global hit.
